The temperatures are starting to fall and will soon stay that way.  Most of don’t want to stop riding our motorcycles but find that the cold wind against our faces makes it harder to stay out there.  One of the solutions that I’ve found over the last couple of years is to use a neoprene face mask.

During the winter your face is probably one of the hardest parts to protect when riding your motorcycle. Bandannas don’t offer enough wind protection or warmth to make them useful. Scarves tend to come loose and be a nusance, not to mention a safety hazard.

Oval Face Shape

Round Shaped Face

A round face is curved with both the length and width equally proportionate.  For an elongated, thinner appearance try angular narrow frames to lengthen the face.  Deeper colors such as black or tortoise also minimize fullness.

Diamond Shaped Face

Diamond-shaped faces are narrow ath the eye and jaw lines with cheekbones that are often high and dramatic.  To highlight the eyes and bring out the cheekbones, try frames with distinctive brow line or rounded styles.

Square Shaped Face

Oblong Shaped Faces

An oblong face is longer than it is wide with an extended cheek line.  To make the face appear shorter and more balanced, pick styles that have vertical depth and don’t extend past the widest part of the face.

Triangular Face

This shape is defined by a broad forehead and narrow mouth and chin.  Frames with a thin rim and vertical lines will help balance the bottom part of the face.  Avoid large frames, bold colors and square shapes.

Try: Cat-eye, angular, or rimless frame styles with very light colors work well with this shape.

I recently read a review of the Sons of Anarchy on Mike Odom’s Blog.  I’ve got to admit that from an entertainment standpoint it’s a very good and exciting show.  It has all the elements you would want from a show that geared towards boosting ratings.  Sex, Drugs, Rock and Roll and Motorcycles.

But I’ve got a problem with the glorifying of the outlaw biker lifestyle.  Having lived that lifestyle for awhile myself it’s really an image that I’m trying to put down.  I really want people to see us more as free indepedant people who have an agenda that allows for complete individualism.  Most of the real bikers I know today are hard riding and have bigger hearts.  A few weeks ago I posted the “I was Just a Biker” video on my Blog.  This is really the image I prefer to see us putting out there.

This is my humble opinion.  Let’s hear yours.
