Bikers against diabetes. What a great ride.

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

For the second year running Bikerwares has been a proud sponsor of the BAD ride here in St Louis. It’s a great feeling to know that in our own little way we are helping people who are suffering from the deadly disease of diabetes.

I’d like to thank the staff of the ADA for the great event. And I’d like to especially thank all the “real bikers” who showed up.

Day the Eagle Cried - A Walk for Freedom

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

Recently, I got an email from a good friend of mine telling me about a project that his son is involved in.  When I checked out the website I was struck by importance of this event.

On September 11, 2001 ( 9/11 )  we got a somber reminder of how precious our freedom is.  Because of the actions of a few our country was faced with the most hideous reminder that we must stand for what we know is important.  This year on 9/11 five young men, who are fighting for our freedom and our rights are putting together a 24 hour walk around the mall in Washington DC.  I highly recommend everyone to support their cause by either participating or donating to the cause.

For more information check out Day The Eagle Cried ( http://www.daytheeaglecried.com/index.html ).  Stand tall and support them in this effort.

3rd Annual SOS “Support Our Soldiers”

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Benefit Ride Poker Run August 16, 2008

We are a group of employees, both Union and Management, who like to ride motorcycles, for many causes. We have raised thousands of dollars through our many rides and among those rides we have ridden for:

SOS Support Our Soldiers
Freedom is not Free

USO

Task Force USA
Care Packages by Dru
Adopt a Family
Canned Goods Ride for Hunger
Spinal Bifida
“Our Friends with Cancer”
Toys for Tots

Along with those of us who ride, we also have the support of our fellow employee’s and their generous contributions, along with the support of the volunteer work from the Veterans and Chaplaincy Committee as well as our Community Service and Civil Rights Committee who are always willing to help support our “Rides for a Cause”. Our Rides are Open to All, and All Bikes and Riders are Welcome at any of our rides.

This year we will be hosting a SOS poker run to raise money for our selected organizations.  The Poker run will begin at the Local 2250 Union Hall, same as last year, and we will ride approximately 100 + miles round trip.  Our stops have been mapped out to include stops at the local Amvet and VFW halls in the St Charles/Lincoln counties.  Beautiful scenery and leisurely ride with the last stop at the Wentzville VFW hall.  There will be music and hot dogs for the riders.  As we tally the winning hands we will have some speakers on behalf of the Armed Forces and the organizations we are supporting.

If you are unable to attend but would like

to contribute, checks can be made payable to:

Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary Campsite

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

There are lots of options for places to stay during the 105th Anniversary for Harley Davidson.  Camping is by far one of the cheapest options and usually a funner option at that.  Here’s just a couple of I know about places offering camping.  In some cases they are even offering free camping.

If you got more suggestion please leave them as comments.
