How to Build a West Coast Choppers Kit Bike
This book presents a step-by-step guide to building a West Coast Chopper's C.F.L. kit. Kit choppers are hot commodities. While few people can afford to buy a custom-built chopper from one of the high-end builders like Jesse James-bikes that often sell for $100,000 or more-many can afford to buy such bikes in kit form. Because of this, all the high-end builders sell their creations in kit form. For example, while Jesse James might build perhaps a dozen custom bikes per year, he sells hundreds of chopper kits. The same is true of any number of other builders like Matt Hotch, Cyril Huze, and Paul Yaffe. Authored by Mike Seate and featuring the photography of Joe Appel, this book is a step-by-step how-to guide for anyone building a kit chopper.

How to Build a Cheap Chopper
This book describes the technicalities of a chopper bike in laymen's terms such as angles, engines, etc. The difference between buying frames and making up your own frames, and what is good and bad as a rule of thumb. Book is great if you just want to know about choppers or actually thinking of building your own from parts or from scratch. I now understand what questions to ask about kit parts and handling/power considerations.

How to Cutom Paint Your Motorcycle
We’re in the midst of the biggest boom in motorcycle customization since the days of Easy Rider. Today’s custom bikes are regarded as rolling art with custom paint jobs that can cost thousands — or even tens of thousands! — of dollars. Custom painter and author JoAnn Bortles offers a primer on painting basics but mainly focuses on more elaborate paint schemes and techniques that produce head-turning results. Popular chopper and cruiser paint elements such as skulls, flames, and candy paints are covered, as are techniques for custom painting sport bikes.

How to Custom Paint Your Harley Davidson
This paperback was very informative as to step-by-step techniques, equipment needed, procedures and safety requirements. Alot has changed since I stopped painting motorcycles over 20 years ago - primarily the paint chemistries, time and temperature constraints, toxicities and the resulting increase in safety requirements - all of which are covered pretty well. Exact paint parameters were not covered as each manufacturer has their own stipulations. Repairs, basic frame molding techniques, engine painting and multiple-color layers were also covered in easy to follow steps., focusing on the actual processes. It does not cover how to build a paintbooth, figuring that you have already created a dust-free place to work. My only criticism is that there were not enough color photographs showing the step-by-step progression from the first color-coat to the finish clear-coats - especially for the multiple-layered jobs. This book brought me up to date from the old "fill the garage with paint clouds" days!

How to Paint Flames
Custom paint jobs are more popular than ever, and no form of custom painting is "hotter" than the flame job. This book will explain how to design the best-looking flames for a particular vehicle, how to transfer that design to the vehicle, and how to apply the paint. The process of painting the flames will be broken into major segments so that the reader can go as far as they feel their skills and confidence will allow.
