- Precision Development from an Expert: Dr. Rudy Kopfer, a maxillofacial surgeon
who is an expert on the bones and muscles on the face, developed the concept behind
Panoptx. Drawing upon his in-depth expertise of how the eye functions, Kopfer
measured the exact structure of the facial bones on hundreds of skulls. He averaged the
numbers and arrived at a formula for an exact fit that would protect the eyes from wind.
He worked for eight years to engineer a sunglass that would fit these facial curves, thus
developing a product that had not previously been introduced to the marketplace.
Panoptx Proprietary Technology
- Anti-Fog Coating - The inner surface of the lens is treated with a permanent,
hard anti-fog coating that is the most effective anti-fog treatment available and
works by absorbing excess moisture.
- Filtered Vent Apertures – This technology enables the air to move slowly
across the inner lens, keeping it fog free and preventing dust, snow and pollen
from reaching the eye.
- Patent-Pending Face Forming Seal – This seal encloses and protects the eyes
with an eyecup form covered with a fleece fabric that wicks away perspiration
from the eyes while remaining cool and dry.
- Sport Wrap – A durable nylon frame wraps around the face, allowing for superior
peripheral vision and a secure fit.
Complete Protection from Ultra-Violet Rays: Panoptx has taken UV protection one
step further by developing a sunglass that offers 100% UV protection with a patented
orbital foam seal, completely preventing UV rays from reaching the eye.
Rx Option: The Panoptx optical lab can grind custom Rx lenses for most Panoptx styles
(excluding the CV series), for prescriptions +/- 5.00D. Bifocals are also available.
